The men’s section of Yarra Valley Hockey Club welcomes hockey players of all abilities and experience levels, including players looking to commit to playing high-grade competitive hockey, as well as social and development teams for players wanting to play casually or who are new to the sport.

In 2023, YVHC have three teams entered in Hockey Victoria’s Men’s winter season:

• Vic League 1
• Vic League 1 Reserves
• Pennant D

Vic League Training

The Vic League squad trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are for players who want to commit to playing in Hockey Victoria’s top grade of hockey. Squad training includes both teams as well as any players hoping to develop their hockey and be considered for selection in Yarra Valley’s Top Team.

Pennant Training 

Yarra’s Pennant team train on Wednesday nights and the teams are suitable for experienced players who would like to play more socially rather than competitively as well as players with less hockey experience or who have never played before.

Coaching

Yarra ensures all their senior players have access to coaching that is suitable for their needs, ability and experience. The club seeks to ensure that whilst we all work hard and want to improve our hockey and have success on the field, that we are playing hockey for fun and all need to enjoy ourselves.
