Step 2 in Covid19 restrictions has been announced, however both Banyule Council and Hockey Victoria are awaiting on Sport & Rec Vic to provide further clarifications before guidelines for return to hockey can be issued and we can start to return to the facility.
At the moment club access to our (Councils) pavilion and facilities is still not permitted. Including storage areas. There are fines for breaching the Step 2 guidelines. Personal fines up to $1,652, and Clubs may face fines of up to $9,913 for breach.
As our field has “public” access, people can gain access to the field. However they must be aware that no more than 10 people are permitted to exercise in a group at once. This will likley imply 10 / pitch until SRV issue their guidelines.
Both the Council and HV depend on Sport & Rec Vic to provide further clarifications before we can issue our guidelines – the link to their website is here.
We expect SRV to issue their guidelines for Step 2 this week and the YVHC General Committee will meet asap or over the weekend to figure out how we implement these. Subject to Council confirmation we can as a club return to hockey asap. With suitable cleaning, sanitisation, distancing etc.
Stay fit & healthy. The light is coming on at the end of the tunnel for season restart. Signs are that the season may go deep into October 2020.
